I see what you're saying and I do agree--you are correct, there are not many young success stories in the world of design.

To counter my idea, my thought was that having one creative member on a team would help the overall team. I understand creative problem solving is important, but I felt that the other team members would already bring that to the table. If it was an individual, that would perhaps be a different situation, but having a team member with less formal education and problem solving capabilities may be an advantage to a team as a whole, bringing in a world of new ideas. I've heard many designers speak about the advantages they felt Interns brought to the work place--the energy that comes with less experience is refreshing. Eventually, through on-the-job experience, I believe that the individual would gain problem solving skills and fit in to the culture of the workplace. I of course have not done any research on statistics, this is just an idea, but I believe it is one that could bring value to a work place.
